In פסוק א פרק לה it says:
1: Moses called the whole community of the children of Israel to assemble, and he said to them: "These are the things that the Lord commanded to make.
A question that can be asked is, why is the משכן being repeated in such great detail, and so many times? The רבינו בחיי says that the משכן is very important and beloved by Hashem, and therefore it is repeated many times.
What are the other possible answers to this question?
Additionally, where else do we see something repeated many times because it is very important and beloved? What is so important about the משכן? Why does Moshe gather ALL of בני ישראל to listen to this, and is there anywhere else where Moshe gathers all of בני ישראל (and why)?

ReplyDeleteAdditionally, where else do we see something repeated many times because it is very important and beloved?
ReplyDeleteHashem counts Bnei Yisrael many times once they leave Mitzrayim because he loves them so much and cares about them a lot. Many times Hashem counts Bnei Yisrael because he wants to show his love to them and show that each and every one of them matter and that He will notice if one of them is missing.
I really like this idea because it shows that Hashem really cares about Am Yisrael, and He could just forget about us and not care so much, but He truly does care and wants to make sure every single one of us is with Him. Hashem is always there for us and loves us and cares about us.
In the shemot the first pasuk says the names of bnei israel but we already said the names at the end of bereishet. Why? Rashi says and we learned that hashem repeats it because he loves Bnei Israel
ReplyDeleteQ: What is the importance of the Mishkan?
ReplyDeleteThe Mishkan is a sign of God’s love and Israel’s spiritual ascendancy. It’s a sacred place for people to function as better people. The Mishkan is a holy place that guides people in the right direction. The people should take home what they do in the Mishkan, and use it in their every day life.

The Ramban comments on the importance of the mishkan and says that the main purpose for the mishkan is to continue the revelation that occurred at Har Sinai, a central place from which hashem would continue to direct the Jewish people. He adds that this is the reason why the first aspect of the mishkan that the Torah talks about is the Aron Kodesh, the place where the Luchot are kept. Hashem says, “And I shall meet with you there, and I shall tell you from above the kapporet, from between the two cherubs, which is on top of the Ark of Testimony, everything which I will command you [to communicate] to the People of Israel.” I like this answer because it shows how the Jewish people had a central and stable place where they could go to seek guidance from hashem.
ReplyDeleteWhy does Moshe gather ALL of בני ישראל to listen to this?
ReplyDeleteOr Hachaim says that when it says ALL of Beni Israel it is talking about everyone including men and women and orphans and children. And that he wanted them to come bc the last time they saw him his face was emitting rays so he wanted them to gather so he can show them that they won’t be blonde but the rays. I like the answer bc it’s very logical and makes sense.
The Or Hachaim says that the reason why it specifically says כל is because unlike in a different pasuk where it says “מאת כל איש” which includes orphans, wealthy, and women, here moshe only says “את כל” without a third word therefore leaving out the one which the Or Hachaim thinks to me the wealthy because right now it doesn’t matter how much money you have because you are all part of one whole nation of Bnei yisrael.
ReplyDeleteI really Like this answer because it shows how much we as a nation care about each person and not about their money
